Hazard Mitigation Planning
SEMO RPC works with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and local jurisdictions, including counties, cities, and school districts, to develop local hazard mitigation plans. These plans identify the natural hazards that can potentially impact local jurisdictions and develops actions which can be taken before a disaster occurs to mitigate the impacts to property and human life.
Plans and Reports
FEMA has announced a mitigation funding opportunity for Fiscal Years 2024 and 2025 Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program. The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is now accepting Notice of Intent (NOI) forms from eligible jurisdictions for projects they wish to apply for. NOI forms are due to SEMA by Friday, April 24, 2026. A NOI is not an application for funds, SEMA will review submitted NOI forms and select projects for an invitation to apply.
