Far-reaching and Innovative
Services Since 1968

The Southeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission was officially formed March 12, 1968, by proclamation from Governor Warren E. Hearnes. In 1974, our humble commission transformed into the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission we know today.

Since then, the organization has evolved into an intergovernmental agency that provides planning and economic development services to our seven-member counties of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Iron, Madison, Perry, St. Francois, and Ste. Genevieve, and the municipalities within.

Working along a broad cross-section of local governments, economic development organizations, civic groups, businesses, and individual citizens, we strive to provide far-reaching services that will help enhance the livability and economic bases of each county and community.
